A shocking incident has come to light in Nizamabad district, Telangana, where police officers at the Bodhan police station allegedly mistreated a detained individual.
As part of their investigation, the police took the suspect into custody and chained him inside the station. Reports also claim that he was forced to perform labor while restrained.
A viral video circulating on social media shows the detainee sweeping the floor of the police station while his legs are bound with heavy iron chains. The video, which has sparked outrage, captures the individual moving slowly as he performs the task.
Typically, detainees are held in a cell after being taken into custody. However, in this case, the Bodhan police allegedly shackled the man’s legs and compelled him to do menial work within the station premises. The video, recorded by unidentified individuals, was uploaded online, leading to widespread criticism over human rights violations.
As concerns grow regarding police misconduct and abuse of power, authorities have yet to issue an official response to the controversy.
